Director’s Welcome

Welcome to the Peninsula Symphonic Band’s 36th season!

It is such a great pleasure to serve as the Music Director for this amazing community band. The members are talented and friendly and work very hard to produce a number of quality concerts each year.

As we launch our 36th year, we will welcome new and returning members and set about learning and performing great music for the enjoyment of Door County audiences.

Membership in the band is open to any high school or adult musician who has a reasonable instrumental proficiency. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, April 6th at 7:00 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. There are two seasons each year: April – July and September – December.

In addition to the symphonic band, we also have a big band which performs traditional jazz and swing favorites four to six times each year. The Swingin’ Door Big Band is composed of talented musicians invited by the music director. These performances are held at venues that are designed for this type of musical ensemble and that offer food, drink, and a dance floor.

If you are a musician interested in participating in our ensembles, please don’t hesitate to contact me at peninsulasymphonicband@gmail.com.

I look forward to another exciting year and to seeing many of you at our concerts!

Musically,

Jason R. Palmer
