Welcome to the Peninsula Symphonic Band!

It is such a great pleasure to serve as the Music Director for this amazing community band. The members are talented and friendly and work very hard to produce four to six quality concerts each year.

2020 was a big one for the Peninsula Symphonic Band. Founded in 1990, the band will celebrate its 30^th anniversary. I am fortunate to serve as the fourth Music Director in the band’s thirty year history.

Membership in the band is open to any high school or adult musician who has a reasonable instrumental proficiency and the desire to join with other like-minded musicians to make great music. The ensemble rehearses on Monday evenings from 7 – 8:30 in the band room at Sturgeon Bay High School. There are two seasons each year: April thru July and September thru December.

In addition to the symphonic band, we also have a big band which performs traditional jazz and swing favorites four to six times each year. These performances typically include dance instruction and are held at venues that are designed for this type of musical ensemble and that offer food.
