Swingin’ Door Big Band will bring the sounds of the swing era to the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center at the end of the month.

The free concert is set for Saturday, July 25, at 7 pm at the Peg Egan, 7840 Church St. in Egg Harbor.

The evening’s program will feature a lively mix of big band favorites, swing-era classics and traditional jazz.

Founded in 2019 by music director Jason Palmer and his wife, Jamie, Swingin’ Door Big Band is a sister ensemble of the Peninsula Symphonic Band. The band features nearly 20 musicians, ranging from high school students to seasoned professionals. Vocalists Jamie Palmer, Claire Morkin and Donna Ruzicka perform together as Company B, an Andrews Sisters-inspired trio that joins the band for select performances and brings an extra layer of vintage charm.

Donations are encouraged to support the band’s summer band camp scholarship program. This year, the program awarded $1,500 in scholarships to six Door County student musicians, bringing its total scholarship support to more than $8,000 since its founding.
