The start of rehearsals for the Peninsula Symphonic Band’s upcoming fall-winter season marks the second half of the community band’s 36th year of making music throughout the peninsula, as well as Jason Palmer’s final season as music director.
The first rehearsal of the season will be held on Monday, Sept. 14, at 7 pm, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1756 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. Rehearsals will continue on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm at Prince of Peace.
The Peninsula Symphonic Band is a volunteer ensemble open to any high school or adult musician who loves making music with others. The band offers two seasons each year: spring-summer (April – July) and fall-winter (September – December). The band’s wide-ranging repertoire includes marches, patriotic selections, movie themes and popular music.
