Students Awarded Band Camp Scholarships

The Peninsula Symphonic Band and the Swingin’ Door Big Band selected six Door County middle and high school musicians to receive $250 summer band camp scholarships for 2026. 

The scholarships are designed to offset tuition costs and fuel the development of young musicians across the peninsula. This year’s scholarship recipients are Abby Rock at Sevastopol, Alex Anderson at Sturgeon Bay, Clara Carrier at Gibraltar, Cora Herbst at Sturgeon Bay, Lauren Gaida at Sevastopol and Maxim Reifsnyder at Gibraltar.

Applicants submitted a completed application, a 250-word essay describing what they hoped to gain from band camp and a recommendation from their school’s band director. This year’s recipients will attend camps at Birch Creek, University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Whitewater.
