The Peninsula Symphonic Band and the Swingin’ Door Big Band are accepting applications, due April 17, for their 2026 summer band camp scholarship program.

Scholarships of up to $250 each will be awarded to local concert band, wind ensemble and jazz band students in grades 7 through 11 who are actively involved in a school band program at one of Door County’s public school districts.

Application materials are available through local middle and high school band directors or by contacting peninsulasymphonicband@gmail.com.

To apply, students must complete an application, submit a 250-word essay describing what they hope to learn at band camp and provide a recommendation from their school band director. The scholarship program is funded through proceeds from Peninsula Symphonic Band and Swingin’ Door Big Band performances, reflecting the bands’ shared commitment to music education and the future of school band programs in Door County.

This marks the fifth year the ensembles have offered the scholarship program, which has grown to support 25 students since its inception.
