PSB Summer Launch!!

After what seems like a lifetime, the Peninsula Symphonic Band is ready to begin rehearsing again!

Rehearsals will remain on Monday evenings from 7 – 8 pm at Prince of Peace Church on Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay. The first rehearsal will be on June 14th.
The following safety protocols will be in place for the first rehearsal with the option for adjustments depending upon the current pandemic environment:

As of May 6th, the Door County Public Health Department reports that 60% of residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine and vaccines are available to every resident 16 years and older.

The following protocols have been devised from the “best practices” of Sturgeon Bay High School, Algoma High School and Birch Creek Music Camp as well as the latest aerosol studies.

Bell covers for all instruments are being purchased through a grant from the Emergency Fund and will be available at the first rehearsal.

PSB Covid Protocols

1)      Musicians will be seated at least 6 feet apart in all directions

2)      Bell covers will be used on all instruments

3)      Saliva must be emptied into a towel

4)      Rehearsals will last only one hour (inside or outside)

5)      All musicians will provide their own music stand

6)      Masks will be worn when entering/exiting/moving around the building

7)      Masks will be worn during breaks in rehearsal

These safety protocols represent our current situation and may change by mid-June as more and more residents are vaccinated. Protocols will be adjusted as circumstances change.

If you have not yet registered your intent to attend on June 14th, please send me an email at timberhouseconsulting@yahoo.com. Kathy Rauch will be assembling the folders and would appreciate being able to have music ready for you at the first rehearsal.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or suggestions. Looking forward to making music with you again in a few weeks!
