Peninsula Symphonic Band
Door County, Wisconsin

I began playing trombone in 4th grade in Northbrook, Illinois, under the direction of Stuart Ludlow. I believe there is a special place in heaven for elementary school band directors! I played through high school and later in the Northwestern University Marching Band, which helped ease the pain of our many long and dreadful defeats.

I first heard the PSB at a concert at the Maritime Museum several years ago and thought the band sounded great and it looked like fun. Now that I am retired from a career in operations management and business brokerage, I am able to spend summers here in Door County at our family seasonal cabin so I can now play in the PSB for at least part of the year. I like to say we live in Sturgeon Bay, but go south (to Chicago!) for the winter. At home, I coordinate, and play in, our church Brass Ensemble.

I greatly enjoy playing in the PSB. It has been good for me musically to play a variety of musical styles and it has been especially fun to get to know the other players in the band!
