I started lessons in the 3rd grade, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. By the 6th grade, I was perfoming, first with the 6th-grade band, then later in the junior high band. At Waukesha-South High School, I played in the concert band, the marching band, and the jazz band. At U-W Oshkosh, I was a member of the marching band. I am a charter member of the Peninsula Symphonic Band, having been encouraged to join by Cheryl Pfister, at that time the Sevastopol band director. I love to play, and I urge all of you out there, even if you haven't played for a number of years, to come join us. You'll find a fun, friendly, non-competitive atmosphere, a sense of sharing time with people who love to make music. I am retired from a career as a physical education, health education teacher.
